Roadway/Transportation Engineer (EIT) opportunity with BGE, Inc. in San Antonio, TX, focused on transportation work.

Responsibilities

  • Performs engineering associated with highway / roadway planning and design including horizontal and vertical geometry, Microstation and/or OpenRoads 3D modeling, retaining wall layouts, quantity calculations, miscellaneous details, and final plan deliverables.
  • Interprets and applies applicable codes and exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.
  • Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates engineering work involving conventional practices but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Must have passed the FE Exam; registered Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) is preferred.
  • 1-4 years of experience as a civil engineer in Transportation/Roadway Design projects
  • Experience with relevant State DOT and local county/municipality standards is preferred.
  • Knowledge of PS&E Processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with MicroStation and OpenRoads 3D Modeling software
